I’m so excited for The Hobbit, but I’m also so over 3D.
I’m upset about this, but I think I’m more upset that it will be split into 2 movies…. the Hobbit was written after the lord of the rings saga and it’s shorter than any of the other books. how are they gonna make it two movies?

Actually The Hobbit was written before the Lord of the Rings trilogy— Tolkien wrote LotR because his publishers requested a sequel to The Hobbit. Also from what I can gather, there will be two films, but only one of them may be the story of The Hobbit. The other is possibly going to bridge the gap between The Hobbit and LotR. It was Del Toro who suggested that the narrative of The Hobbit would be expanded to fill two films, and as he’s no longer directing, this might not be the case anymore.

Today the Wellington Dominion Post newspaper carried an advertisement in the back for Hobbit doubles…tall and short people only! I have it on good authority that this comes directly from the studios, this time it’s the real thing. It’s not quite a green light but we must be getting awfully close!

howard shore is composing eclipse. favorite composer. favorite book of the series. I AM STOKED. carter burwell butchered twilight. well that whole movie was like a bad daytime soap opera honestly and the cheesy electric guitar played thruout the movie was just plain stupid. but THIS, howard shore composing, will be EPIC. it will completely make the movie so much more entertaining to say the least. I am still dying to see one of his lotr concerts. one day I will. oh this just made my day. howard shore ftw!
